Objective:
The SI4SI project focused on creating a smart living environment for the elderly, leveraging innovative technology such as advanced sensors and AI-based systems. The primary objectives were to identify levels of social isolation in seniors, provide decision-making support through an AI Advisor, and enhance care through personalized activities and improved communication tools for seniors and caregivers.
Scope of Work:
1. Research and Development:
- Contributed to the development and integration of non-invasive sensing devices like IoT sensors and wearables.
- Focused on tracking functional and social activities, along with emotional patterns indicative of social isolation.
2. AI Advisor Development:
- Contributed to the creation of an AI Advisor system to analyze data and provide personalized recommendations for seniors and caregivers.
- Aimed to improve decision-making support and intervention strategies.
3. Multimodal Fusion Analysis System:
- Contributed to the implementation of a system to understand seniors’ kinetic, emotional status, and social participation levels.
- Utilized collected data for comprehensive analysis.
4. Conversational Assistant and Smart Home Tablet:
- Contributed to the development of a conversational assistant for interactive communication.
- Provided seniors with a smart home tablet for vocal and video interactions.
5. Social and Collaborative Platforms:
- Established a social platform for engaging seniors.
- Created a collaborative application for professional, social, and family caregivers.
6. Integration and Testing:
- Integrated various technologies to ensure seamless operation.
- Conducted rigorous testing to ensure system reliability and effectiveness.
